With ISL on schedule, India coach Igor Stimac gets just two weeks for Asian Cup

Igor Stimac ISL India Kalyan Chaubey AIFF All India Football Federation Asian Games Fifa Football FSDL

PANAJI: The Indian Super League (ISL) will kick off as scheduled on September 21, despite a late request from All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey to delay start by 10 days so that India can field a strong side at the Asian Games 2023.

The Asian Games commence on September 19, just two days prior to the ISL. Not surprisingly, clubs are reluctant to release players outside the FIFA international window when they will miss league games.
