BIJNOR: In an effort to combat the annual menace of stubble burning during the harvest season and its devastating impact on air quality and the environment, the Uttar Pradesh agriculture department is distributing waste decomposers to paddy crop growers.
UP accounts for approximately 60 lakh hectares of land under paddy cultivation, and the post-harvest residue from this vast expanse becomes a primary contributor to stubble burning, releasing toxic pollutants and worsening air quality.
