A Wishaw woman has swapped her two decades of office work for a fledgling beauty business.
Natalie Kelso had worked in a variety of different roles but always had aspirations of owning her own business.
But despite taking on a business management degree, the 36-year-old was searching for a gap in the market.
And she finally did so earlier this year by setting up Brazilian Booty Lift Lanarkshire, based on Wishaw’s Netherton Road.
Natalie said: “I had worked in administration roles for the past 20 years just getting by but I was never particularly enjoyed.
“I lost my job during lockdown when my contract didn’t get renewed.
“At that time I had been working from home and it just wasn’t for me, I just needed to have something to get me out of the house.
“I had one of these treatments in November last year and the results were amazing but when I got it done I discovered you could only get this in Glasgow or Edinburgh so there was a gap in the market.
“I have been doing a degree in business management so I have always wanted to own my own business and I thought this was a good opportunity to have that dream.
“Before I had the treatment myself I struggled with my confidence.
“I have got two kids and after my second child I would never have wore a bikini on holiday, I just didn’t have the confidence.
“My last holiday that was totally different.”
Brazilian Booty Lift is a treatment which improves different areas of the body including stomach, hips, thighs and bottom.
The business is now franchised in various parts of the UK with Natalie opening her business, based within Francesca’s Kloset in Netherton Road.
Natalie added: “The treatment is very popular in the US before it was brought over to the UK.
“I started the business in March this year and it has been going great, I’ve had great feedback from the clients.
“You can see a real difference in their body image, it’s not just about losing weight but it’s more comfortable about being in your own skin.
“The recommended number of treatments is five but clients have been saying they can see the difference after just one.
“I was wanting to own my own business but I knew it was just about finding my niche. Now I think I’ve found that.
“I feel very fortunate and the cherry on the cake is my family are all buzzing for me.”
