Kind-hearted Wishaw woman Kate Astrauskas has been thanked for her kindness and thoughtfulness.
And as well as being there for others, caring Kate, 60, who is a widower, mum and gran also looks after her granddaughter, Levi.
Neighbour Lorraine Kelly told Lanarkshire Live: “I have lived here five years and Kate welcomed us with open arms.
“My mum passed away last August and Kate has always been there for me.
“She is an amazing person and I just wanted to say thank you and give her something nice for a change instead of her doing everything for everyone else.
“Me and my partner would be lost without her. She goes out of her way to help others and it would be nice for her to know how much she is appreciated.”
When Lorraine told us about her selfless neighbour Kate, we were only too pleased to help out.
And we surprised Kate at her home with a stunning floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.
“Kate always goes the extra mile to be there for everyone else and there simply aren’t any words to say just how much this means to me,” said Lorraine.
And on receiving the flowers a delighted Kate told us: “I’m well chuffed and I want to thank Lorraine for nominating me. I’m over the moon.”
