A Wishaw club have raised thousands for two national veteran’s charity.
Cambusnethan Miners Welfare and Charitable Society members were pleased to announce that its recent fundraising function for Help for Heroes and Erskine raised the grand total of £3,200 with £1,600 going to each charity.
Members of Cambusnethan Miners Committee visited Erskine, which has looked after injured veterans for over a century, and handed over a cheque for £1600.
A club spokesman said: “We would like to express our gratitude to Sharon Meiklejohn for her time and the tour of the Erskine estate which was very poignant.
“We would also like to extend our grateful thanks to everyone who attended our function and without your continued support we would be unable to support our nominated charities in the way we can and once again a massive thank you to everyone involved including the acts who gave up their time and performed for free.”
Elsewhere, the club have confirmed its annual pantomime will take place in the club on December 18.
This year’s panto, Aladdin, will be held from 1pm to 4.30pm and initially tickets shall be restricted to two tickets per club member.
