A Wishaw man reported his car stolen and hid his car at his dead sister-in-law's home in an attempt to scam his insurance company.
Graham Harris pocketed more than £5,000 from AA insurance but he was discovered after cops saw the BMW being taken away for repairs. Delivery driver Harris, 49, could now face jail after pleading guilty to fraud and wasting police time, the Daily Record reports.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard he’d been having trouble with the car’s engine and, after getting the insurance payout, planned to have it repaired. Prosecutor Claire Rowan said Harris told police in March last year that the vehicle had been stolen.
