A Wishaw childminder is getting ready for a charity climb and some of the kids she looks after are going along too.
Linda Condie has been in training to climb Tinto Hill for the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation next Sunday, June 26.
And along with daughters, nine-year-old Eryn and Ellie, 14, some of Linda’s childminding children will be hoping to reach the top.
Linda, from Craigneuk, said: “I have been a childminder for a number of years and the age range is from three to 15.
“I had been looking at doing a fundraiser for a while as Les and the team do fantastic work for local kids who are struggling.
“I know a few of the children they have helped, so I'm hopeful of raising a good amount.
“Fingers crossed the weather is good. I’ll be taking my campervan along and we will have a few parents there to help the children up.
“My sister is pregnant but she is convinced she will be climbing as well. We might just get her to hold the bags!”
Linda has been hard at work, going to the gym five days a week and going on walks with her daughters.
And she is hopeful that, weather permitting, there will be plenty of people, young and old, reaching the top of Tinto with her.
“I’ve been fitting in the gym before the kids come to the house in the mornings,” said Linda.
“I’ve also hired a personal trainer and the girls have been really enthusiastic in coming out for walks.
“I’m sure it will be a great day and hopefully we can raise a lot of money for the charity.”
Charity king Les Hoey added: “We would like to thank Linda for choosing us and wish her and everyone else luck in their challenge.”
