Wisconsin voters have approved two constitutional amendments aimed at changing how state elections are conducted and funded. The measures, known as Question 1 and Question 2, received majority support in the recent election.

Question 2, which limits who can serve as election officials, passed with 56% of the vote, while Question 1, which prohibits the use of private donations and grants in state elections, also passed with about 52% of the vote.

The results showed a clear partisan divide, with traditionally Republican-leaning areas supporting the amendments, while Democratic-leaning areas were largely opposed. The Republican-backed measures were met with opposition from Democrats in the state legislature.

Supporters of the amendments made significant progress in Democratic-friendly areas, with the 'Yes' vote outperforming former President Donald Trump's 2020 results in many counties. Even in counties that President Joe Biden carried, supporters of the measures were leading with substantial margins.

In order for the measures to be defeated, opponents would have needed to follow a similar electoral path to Biden's 2020 performance, particularly in populous counties like Milwaukee and Dane. However, supporters of Question 1 were ahead in most Biden counties reporting results, making it challenging for opponents to overcome the lead.

Overall, the outcome of the election reflects the ongoing political dynamics in Wisconsin, with voters in different regions showing varying levels of support for the constitutional amendments related to state elections.
