Wirral Schools FA have achieved a remarkable double by becoming champions in the English Schools FA National competitions at both under 12 and under 15 boys age group levels.
The squad is made up of the best players from secondary schools across the Wirral and they competed against districts from around the country to be crowned champions of England. Both under 12 and under 15 finals were held at Stoke City FC’s Bet 365 stadium. The under 12s defeated West Kent Schools FA (SFA) 4-0 on May 8 and the under 15s emerged victorious 1-0 against Mid Sussex SFA on May 13.
For the under 12s, they faced tough opposition on route to the final including victories on penalties over both Doncaster and Liverpool SFA away from home. The final was a comfortable victory with goals from Charlie Phillips, Zak Coxon, Charlie Huth and Tom Noonan securing the win.
