New Ferry Post Office is set to move to a new site, just months after it looked like the town might be left without a Post Office at all.
Last September, Vishal Jain, who runs the current Post Office on New Chester Road in the Wirral town, said falling revenues mean he cannot afford to keep it open.
Mr Jain said there were several reasons for this, including trade being affected by the explosion which rocked the town almost five years ago and issues with maintenance costs.

But now a solution has been found.
The plan is for the New Ferry branch to move next door, from 41 New Chester Road to number 39. Under the proposal, the new premises would be refurbished and would include a cards and stationery store.
The new branch would be open from 9am-5.30pm on weekdays and from 9am-12.30pm on Saturdays, but would be closed on Sundays.
These hours are slightly longer than those at the current branch and the current closing time of 3.15pm on Thursdays would be extended to 5.30pm.
The step at the entrance of the new premises would be removed and replaced with a ramp to improve access.
Under the proposal, the existing retailer at number 39, Becky’s Sewing Boutique, will move to a premises just a short distance away at 78-80 New Chester Road.
