Snow could be returning to the UK as early as next week, as spring gets off to a frosty start.

According to the Met Office, Liverpool and the north west will experience wintry showers and plunging temperatures from Sunday onwards. For further north, snow is even on the forecast.

The weather overall as we enter spring is being described by forecasters as "unsettled" with a mixture of showers, frost and snow. There is even some thunder expected into mid April, according to the long range forecast.
