Snow could be returning to the UK as early as next week, as spring gets off to a frosty start.
According to the Met Office, Liverpool and the north west will experience wintry showers and plunging temperatures from Sunday onwards. For further north, snow is even on the forecast.
The weather overall as we enter spring is being described by forecasters as "unsettled" with a mixture of showers, frost and snow. There is even some thunder expected into mid April, according to the long range forecast.

Teasing more snow showers for northern parts of the country, the Met Office forecast for this weekend reads: "Sunny spells and scattered, heavy showers on Saturday, perhaps more persistent rain in the south later.
"Giving way to colder air and some wintry showers Sunday, mainly north and east."
While more locally , Liverpool could be hit with "wintry showers", the forecast reads: "Becoming colder into Sunday, with showers perhaps wintry over the hills. Frosty starts on Monday and Tuesday but largely dry and bright, until rain arrives later Tuesday. Winds easing throughout."
