Love Island 2023 has its first five couples for the winter edition following the first episode.
Love Island got back underway on Monday, January 16, with 10 islanders entering the villa in South Africa. Since 2015, the popular dating programme has given fans everything from breakups and make-ups, to dates, and even marriages from contestants who have left the show.
This season also marked the the debut of Maya Jama hosting the show after Laura Whitmore's departure from the island last year. The boys were the first to enter the villa, with the girls coming in one-by-one after.

The boys were asked to step forward for which girl they liked, but the final decision of coupling up taken by the girls. It didn't take long for the games to begin as the girls stole boys who were already coupled up.
At the end of the episode the drama intensified as bombshell Tom entered the villa with Maya Jama telling the islanders that in 24 hours he would be stealing someone's girl.
Here's the full list of who is coupled up with who, for now.
Tanya and Shaq
Tanya Manhenga, from Liverpool, describes herself as a student, studying biomedical science, and was the first girl to walk through the villa doors. Shaq Muhammad, a 24-year-old airport security guard, stepped forward for the Scouser saying: "Just look at her."
When it came to choosing, Tanya coupled up with Shaq right away. Maya Jama commented that Shaq and Tanya look "very, very good together."
Anna-May and Haris
Anna-May, a 20-year-old payroll administrator from Swansea was the second girl to arrive in the villa. She proved very popular with the boys as three, Will, Haris, and Kai, stepped forward for her.
Anna-May chose Kai, but it wasn't long before another girl, Olivia, stole him away. Anna-May ended up with Haris Namani, a 21 year old, TV salesman from Doncaster.
Lana and Ron
Lana Jenkins, a 25-year-old makeup artist, has travelled from Luton to South Africa in a bid to find love. She is currently paired up with Ron Hall, a financial advisor from Essex who is the same age as Lana.
Ron, who is Love Island's first partially sighted contestant, called Lana a "little rocket” after stepping forward for her.
Olivia and Will
Olivia Hawkins is a ring girl and actress, who has been a body double for huge stars including Michelle Keegan and Emma Watson. Both Haris and Will stepped forward for Olivia, but the ring girl went on to steal Kai from Anna-May.
The fifth girl, Tanyel, then stole Kai away from Olivia, meaning she was coupled up with Will Young, a farmer from Buckinghamshire who is 23 years old.
Tanyel and Kai
Tanyel Revan, aged 26, is a hairstylist from North London - while many viewers have already commented on how much she looks like 2022 series winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
The Islander is paired up with science and PE teacher Kai Fagan from Manchester, who is 24 years old.
