Budding entrepreneurs at an Airdrie school proved they have talents that even Sir Alan Sugar would be wowed by.
For the sixth time, and the first in-person event since 2019 due to COVID, St Margaret's High took part in the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) active citizenship programme which "empowers young people to make a difference in their communities".
Fifty second-year pupils in nine groups made it to the finals and a special presentation gathering was held in the secondary school.
S1 pupils, six judges made up of previous winners, the schools chaplain and campus police officer and the depute in charge of second-year were all on hand for the announcement of the winners.
Class 2.8 youngsters Ailish Davie, Eryn Kerr, Olivia Harkness, Avneet Kaur, Colette Grant and Nicola Wojewodka clinched the top prize - and a £3000 donation for their chosen charity, The Jenna Moriarty Foundation, who provide mental health services and support to children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Mhairi-Claire Caw, lead teacher of the YPI initiative at St Margaret's High, told Lanarkshire Live : "All S2 finalists produced outstanding presentations and were a real credit to the school.
"However, Ailish, Eryn, Olivia, Avneet, Colette and Nicola came out on top and won £3000 for The Jenna Moriarty Foundation.
"They offer support and counselling for mental health issues specifically for young people in the Glasgow area.
"They are a small charity and were created in response to the backlog and waiting lists that Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are struggling to get through, so the money will go a long way.
"The groups that didn't win have still raised awareness of relatively unknown charities and some pupils have even held school bake sales and raffles to raise money for their charities on their own.
"Congratulations to the class 2.8 girls on their big win, and to everyone who took part and made it such a hard decision for the judges.
"Everyone involved has done themselves, and the school, very proud."
