More and more people are taking to the seven seas through the open-world pirate adventure Windrose. The game just hit two major milestones, and developer Kraken Express has taken to social media to thank everyone for hopping in.
On Twitter, the studio posts about not only shifting one million copies already, but setting yet another concurrent player record on Steam, this time at over 200,000. "Thank you! The boar sends its two-tusked regards," the tweet reads.
"Jokes aside, your support has been incredible, and your patience while we work on fixes means the world to us," the team states. "Moreover, Windrose surpassed 200,000 concurrent players on Steam!"

Indeed, Windrose's concurrent peak is now at 222,134 according to SteamDB, which is a strong milestone to hit within the first week of availability. "Thank you kindly, on behalf of our entire studio," the post on Twitter finishes, with an image of a mighty boar who, apparently, "just got a promotion" on the back of these incredible numbers.
"Your support for the game is absolutely astonishing, and your patience while we are working on fixes is truly heart-warming," an update on Steam adds.
Windrose entered early access on April 14, just under a week ago, and the wind was immediately in its sails and tens of thousands of players jumped into the PvE co-op quest for treasure. There have been some foibles due to mysterious connectivity problems that have the developers turning to the community for help, but nothing that's truly hindered the game's momentum.
As this was the first weekend, we may see a plateau here for a little while, as Kraken Express takes stock and starts rolling out more substantial updates. That said, it seems like smooth sailing for the time-being, and long may it continue.
