Newcastle United fans have been praising their team after they earned a 1-1 draw away at West Ham, which will be remembered for a classy Joe Willock finish.
The 22-year-old pounced onto a Declan Rice mistake to coolly net the Magpies' equaliser on the stroke of half-time with the aid of the post and goal-line technology.
Craig Dawson had initially netted for a second consecutive game to put West Ham ahead on 32 minutes.
The draw means Newcastle are six league games unbeaten, having not lost in the top-flight since the 4-0 defeat to Manchester City on December 19.
Eddie Howe was left without Kieran Trippier, who has had successful surgery on a broken foot, and Allan Saint-Maximin, who is reportedly out for up to three weeks with an unspecified injury.
Much-revered January signing Bruno Guimaraes managed to get on five minutes from time, albeit the Toon Army were baying for the Brazilian to start the match.
The aforementioned absences and a third cameo appearance for Guimaraes made the result all the more sweeter for the away fans, many of whom shared their views on social media...
@milessteven001: Another game that did very little for my stress levels but which made me once again proud to be a #nufc fan. A point away to a team fighting for a Champions League spot is brilliant for a team in our position. Targett and Willock excellent, well played lads.
@AngelNUFC: Good point, with ASM we would have won that game.
@Its_The_Ron: Great point especially with the injuries! Cracking performance!
@SavMondo: Eddie Howe’s mags made fifth place West Ham look weak.
@Rxchys: Good point, shame we couldn’t capitalise but we’ve gone away to fifth in the league missing our three best players.
@AstroMag8: With the injuries... against a top six side - I’ll certainly take a point!
@nufc_ollie: I'll take that, West Ham are in Champions League contention and going away anywhere in the Prem is difficult, keep building and the wins will come.
@DarrenJPerkins: More than happy with that! Eddie Howe’s Black and White Army!
@Joe081223: Brilliant, brilliant point. Joe Willock masterclass.
@michaelpotter01: Away from home, missing our three best players, against a team pushing for Champions League football makes that a very good point.
@MatWhittaker: Great point. Better team throughout. Wilson or Saint Maximin starts, and we win.
The result is Newcastle's tenth draw of the season.
