The Prince and Princess of Wales have recently increased their public displays of affection when in the spotlight, body language expert Judi James has claimed.
Her comments come after Kate Middleton gestured towards her husband Prince William at Royal Ascot with a clip of their affectionate exchange immediately going viral online.
Royals fans were delighted by the clip as the couple usually keep their physical touch with one another to a minimum in public, the Express reports.
In a video clip watched over 130,000 times on Twitter, the Princess is seen putting her hand on William's back which causes the pair to glance at one another before she drops her hand and looks to the ground.
Eagle eyed viewers believe the couple were perhaps being flirty with each other while others claimed it may have been just a sweet gesture.
After studying the clip, Ms James opined that William was not trying to ignore Kate as many fans had speculated.
She explained: "This one fade-out probably had more to do with the fact that the couple appeared to be going down some steps and needing to focus.
"Here Kate’s hand goes down to William’s bum. We can’t see if it connects, but as a gesture, the bum-pat or touch usually suggests physical attraction or approval.
"You can pin up a wall-full of photos of William and Kate flirting or gazing at each other using the look of love to counter this one moment and their touch rituals and PDAs seem to be increasing recently rather than decreasing."
Discussing Kate's own body language, Ms James claims: "Kate, on the other hand, probably has the best royal smile in the business.
"Pitch-perfect, it stays in place for long periods of time without wilting and she will often intensify the smile signals to look amused, upbeat, and happy."
The Prince and Princess of Wales' have now been in a relationship for 23 years and have often been compared to that of William's grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh who were married for 73 years.
The royal couple met in 2001 while they were both studying art history before the young prince switched to a geography degree.
Royal expert, Robert Jobson spoke about William and Kate's relationship in a recent episode of Hello! Magazine's A Right Royal Podcast.
He discussed the couple's split many years ago when William was stationed with the Household Cavalry in Dorset and his then-girlfriend of four years remained in London.
Mr Jobson said: "When they did break up on a more serious level, William quickly realised that he was completely wrong.
"He was probably listening to outside sources or outside people. But then perhaps looked at his father's inability to marry or commit to Camilla early on and realised he’d made a big error and tried to win her back.
"I think, in ways, she [Kate] laid out some guidelines, some rules, for how it had to go.
"She wasn’t going to be messed around and, in doing so, showed her strength."
Photographs of the loved up royal couple have shown the strength of their bond over the years although William and Kate are notorious for not showing their affection for one another in public.
In a rare display of his love for Kate, the future King placed his hand on his wife's waist during a visit to Birmingham in April.
This romantic gesture was picked up by YouTuber Jesús Enrique Rosas, also known as The Body Language Guy who commented that it was a good sign for a partner to know consciously and subconsciously that you are there with them, "present and in the moment".
He went on to describe William's body language as a loving gesture and not as a way of controlling Kate.
Another body language signal that the YouTuber picked up on was the way the Princess of Wales exposes her neck when she turns to William and smiles at him.
Mr Rosas claims it is a feminine gesture which likely suggests that Kate feels comfortable with William and protected by him.
He also noted how on an official visit to a restaurant a customer telephoned the eatery to make an order and the Prince of William hilariously picked up the call instead of the staff.
Jesús opined that the way the couple were laughing with one another showed "the energy" that was there for everyone to see.
He added that the Prince appeared relaxed and Kate had her "bright smile" across her face as they enjoyed the playful situation together.
