Pop Idol singer Will Young has been spotted in a queer Edinburgh bookstore after performing in the city over the weekend.
The singer is in the capital on his 20th anniversary tour in celebration of winning Pop Idol’s first series in 2002 and performed at the Usher Hall on October 16 at 7pm.

A couple of days later he seemed to be enjoying his time in the city as he strolled around the charismatic Southside area and popped into the Lighthouse, an independent local bookshop.
In the store he spotted his wellbeing book, The A-Z of Wellbeing and couldn’t resist posting a picture. The singer is seen wearing a plaid fleece shirt and bright yellow hat as he grins while pointing at the book on the shelf.
Sharing the delightful encounter he wrote: "Lovely to visit the wonderful queer bookshop @Lighthousebks in Edinburgh and see my 'A-Z of Wellbeing' book on the shelves!"
The Lighthouse excitedly replied to the tweet writing: "oh my goodness! Thank you Will! (you've made this voted-religiously-for-you-on-pop-idol-as-a-teen bookseller squeak with delight)"
Since winning Pop Idol, Will has gone on to become one of the most successful contestants to ever appear on the show. He has racked up more than 10 million record sales, eight UK Top 3 albums - including his recent 2021 album Crying On The Bathroom Floor - and the number one best-selling single of the noughties, Evergreen/ Anything Is Possible.

Pop Idol was broadcast to as many as 10 million viewers when it originally aired, shooting Will to fame and rewarding him with a record deal to release his hitUK number one debut album From Now On after receiving a massive 4.6 million votes from the public.
The singing competition was one of the first of its kind and, with just two series, it cemented its legacy in British pop culture as well as becoming an international TV franchise.
