The latest series of Channel 4’s 24 Hours in A&E saw the long-running fly-on-the-wall show filmed outside of London for the first time - at the accident and emergency department of Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre. The programme, which debuted in 2011 and has since become a mainstay of the Channel 4 schedule, sees cameras placed in A&E departments and left rolling around the clock.
Viewers are given a unique perspective on the dramas and challenges faced by staff and patients every day in the NHS. While the most recent series of episodes of 24 Hours in A&E only ended recently, fans of the show are already wondering whether there’ll be more shows from Nottingham.

Where is 24 Hours in A&E filmed?
Channel 4’s documentary series 24 Hours in A&E has been filmed at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. The 30th series of the programme was its first to be filmed outside of London.
Previously, from series one to six, the fly-on-the-wall reality series was filmed at King’s College Hospital in Camberwell. From series seven, filming of 24 Hours in A&E was moved to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
It was announced last year that the 30th series had been filmed at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre. Filming at the hospital’s A&E department took place over 46 consecutive days.
“We have one of the biggest major trauma centres in the country, and our emergency department treats over 600 patients every day,” said Dr Keith Girling, medical director at Nottingham University Hospitals, in a statement at the time. “This will give us a real opportunity to show the dedication, passion and skill of our teams and the care and kindness shown to our emergency patients.”
The latest series started in January this year, with the seventh episode of series 30 broadcast on February 14. Episodes from the most recent series are available to watch on catch-up via All 4.
Will there be more episodes of 24 Hours in A&E from Nottingham?
Producers of 24 Hours in A&E have said that there will be more episodes filmed in Nottingham to be aired later in the year. We do not yet know exactly when they will be on our screens, but the programme’s makers have confirmed the show will return at a later date.
A spokesperson from Channel 4 told Nottinghamshire Live: “There will be a new run of episodes later this year as part of the current series. So there will be further stories to come from Queen’s Medical Centre.”
