For three weeks The Capture has kept viewers on the edge of their seats as they were invited to delve into the terrifying world of deep fake technology. The second series of the hit BBC One drama came to its epic conclusion on Monday, September 12.
Written and created by Ben Chanan, The six-part second series of The Capture saw DCI Rachel Carey attempt to expose Correction - a group at the centre of a secret government conspiracy. The series also focused on Isaac Turner (Paapa Essiedu) - an MP who was a victim of similar deepfake treachery.
Following the last episode of series two, viewers have been desperate to know whether there will be a third edition of the show. The first series of The Capture aired in 2019 and told the story of a British soldier being accused of kidnapping and murdering a barrister after being caught on CCTV 'committing' the crime. "#TheCapture is just the best drama. Please be a series three @BBCOne," said one person on social media as the credits rolled on the final episode of the series. Another commented: "Me getting a petition signed so we can get a season three #TheCapture."
Whilst the BBC are yet to formally announce a third series, Holliday Grainger (who plays DCI Carey) told Radio Times that she'd be keen to see the series continue. She said: "It goes on such a massive journey throughout season two that where we're left, the world and Correction as we leave it at the end, I want to know what happens next.
