However, while he may not be welcome at the prestigious event, it's thought he will be welcomed by to the big screen and he's said to be making a return with I Am Legend 2.

The sequel to Will's popular first movie is ready to be produced by Westbrook Studios and will see hims reprise his role as scientist Robert Neville as he continues to search for a cure for zombies in the post-apocalyptic world.

According to a source, the script hasn't been signed off yet, but the concept features the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star's character.

The source told The US Sun : "The script is being written mentioning his character and as of yet, Will remains attached to the project.

"The concept is still to be signed off by Warner Brothers, but there has been no indication that Will is off the project."

They continued to say that Will's company is in charge of the development as it continues and said: "The reality is that Will will make a comeback at some point and it will be simply down to which studio will be the one to take a chance on him."

The insider added: ""The negative sentiments from the public about his career have certainly reduced in recent weeks as the world has moved on thanks to stories like the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial."

They also claimed that Will has been taking time away from the limelight as he sought out help from a therapist before saying Hollywood loves comeback stories.

Another of Will's movies, Bad Boys, is set for a new instalment with the star not ruled out from another appearance.

Will was one of Hollywood's hottest properties before his outburst.

Sony boss Tom Rothman said at Cinemacon: "That movie's been in development and still is. There weren't any brakes to pump because the car wasn't moving.

"That was a very unfortunate thing that happened, and I don't think it's really my place to comment, except to say that I've known Will Smith for many years, and I know him to be a good person.

"That was an example of a very good person having a very bad moment in front of the world."
