PANAJI: For the academic year 2021-22, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had introduced a special evaluation scheme for Class X and XII students. The scheme was based on principles recommended in the National Education Policy and has also been extended by the Board for the next academic year 2022-23.
As per the special evaluation scheme, the syllabus is divided into two equal parts for the first term and the second term. Both these term-end examinations are conducted by the Board, instead of conducting a single public exam at the end of the academic year. It was felt that having two exams reduced the pressure on students to study and answer for the entire year’s syllabus at once at the public exams.
