Will recite Hanuman Chalisa at disputed site: Right-wing outfit

AGRA: President of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Rajyashree Chaudhary, has threatened to recite Hanuman chalisa at the disputed premises of Krishna Janmasthan on December 6 (Tuesday) - the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition - if the entry to the controversial land is not barred before Janmashtami on August 18.

The date chosen by the right-wing group coincides with the 1992 demolition of Ayodhya’s Babri Masjid, where the Ram janmabhoomi temple is being constructed now. The threat has come at a time when a local court is hearing a bunch of petitions seeking removal of the 17th-century mosque.

Chaudhary said, “The district administration should bar everyone from entering the disputed site at Krishna Janmasthan complex till August 17 or else, the members of the outfit will enter the premises on December 6 and recite the Hanuman Chalisa.” She claimed that this land was bought by her ancestor Pt Madan Mohan Malviya so they have “full right over the premises”.

Meanwhile, the Mathura court has rescheduled hearing of eight cases related to the Sri Krishna Janambhoomi-Idgah dispute after the demise of a local lawyer.

Several pleas, filed in the matter, claim that the mosque is built on Krishna janmabhoomi, the actual birthplace of lord Krishna (Garb grah) which is within the walls of the present day Shahi Idgah structure. Thus, petitioners have sought ownership of the entire 13.37-acre land. They also sought cancellation of a compromise decree between the governing body of the temple complex and management trust of the mosque in 1968.
