With less than a week until the arrival of the 2023 NFL draft, the betting markets are closing in on what they project the draft order to be like, and it seems Kentucky’s Will Levis is rising up the boards.
Paying attention to the betting markets is important because sometimes they’ll know about what’s to come before the media will. And according to Caesers Sportsbook, Levis is now the favorite to be the No. 2 overall pick.
🚨Major No. 2 overall pick odds shift at @CaesarsSports. Will Levis is now the odds-on favorite. Is a trade coming?👀
Will Levis (-140)
Tyree Wilson (+275)
Will Anderson Jr. (+400)
C.J. Stroud (+450)
Bryce Young (20/1)
Anthony Richardson (25/1)#NFLDraft | #NFLDraft2023— Jaime Eisner (@JaimeEisner) April 22, 2023
With Bryce Young the overwhelming favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers, this is a pretty big shift in the odds with less than a week to go.
Speculation suggests this could mean a few things. It could mean a team is wanting to trade up to the No. 2 overall pick with the Houston Texans or the Texans themselves are zeroing in on Levis as their selection.
At this point, it’s incredibly difficult to know what will happen Thursday night when the first round of the draft arrives. The Indianapolis Colts themselves are likely waiting to see where the chips fall before they know who they are going to pick.
But if Levis is the No. 2 pick, that means C.J. Stroud will slide, and that could mean a bidding war for teams wanting to move up to the No. 3 pick in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals.
But with the betting markets shifting, this is something to keep an eye on leading up to the draft.
