Brits have been warned to brace for the possibility of snow this week as temperatures are set to plummet.
An extra-cold bite is predicted to set in this week as chilly easterly winds shift north, with temperatures to dip as low as -10C at night and up to 10cm of snow expected in parts of Scotland.
The mercury had already dipped as far as -3.8C near Inverness on Saturday night, and experts said the coming cold snap could last as long as a week.
