It will remain at this level overnight.

Despite these fairly low temperatures, Leeds should experience plenty of sunny weather throughout the day. There is also a chance of some rain at around 10pm and overnight.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has warned there could be snow this week as a big freeze hits the UK. A sudden stratospheric warming event has taken place, which can bring cold fronts to the UK.

WXCharts is suggesting some snow could be falling in the UK over the next two days. The Mirror reports that's particularly in Scotland and the north of England.

The Met Office said of the Leeds forecast: "Early rain clearing to leave a largely dry day. Cloud breaking after midday to give some decent sunny periods through the afternoon.

"Winds generally light but breezy towards the coast. Maximum temperature 8 °C."
