Former Emmerdale fave Emily Symons has opened up about a possible return.
Aussie star Emily Symons, 53, currently plays Marilyn Chambers in Home and Away. Emmerdale fans will remember she previously portrayed Louise Appleton in the soap between 2001 and 2008.
Ahead of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary, which will bring a month of celebrations in October, there’s been lots of rumours of former favourites returning. Today, Emily appeared on This Morning to address whether she will be heading back to Yorkshire.

“Not at this point,” Emily rather cryptically replied. “My boss is sitting right there so I can’t say anything.”
That answer possibly leaves a little room for Emmerdale fans to hope we might see barmaid Louise Appleton back in the soap at some point. As ever, we’ll keep you posted, on the rumours of those coming and going from Emmerdale.
During her This Morning appearance, the star was interviewed live from The Diner in Home and Away’s Summer Bay setting. Emily was asked if she was pleased to see rival Australian soap Neighbours conclude.
Emily, who had a spell on the UK’s Dancing On Ice, said: “No, not at all. We are all very sad for our colleagues and friends in Melbourne. Wasn’t the finale the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen?”
The conclusion of Neighbours saw the return of stars who found fame in the show. We welcomed back Jason Donovan, Kyle Minogue and Guy Pearce among others for the emotional end.
