Arsenal have been on the hunt for a winger since the start of the season as Mikel Arteta needs to find a player who can provide stern competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
And it seems the Gunners have been given a boost in their attempts to strengthen in this position. Wilfried Zaha has been linked with a move to the club on and off for a number of years, but had also recently attracted attention elsewhere.
Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the Ivorian international. However, this would not be the main concern as it has now been reported that Zaha will not leave Crystal Palace in January.

Arsenal had a strong start to the summer transfer window, addressing both the forward and defensive positions, which clearly needed strengthening towards the back of last season. Despite a good summer window, more acquisitions are still needed in January.
The Gunners have been searching for a midfielder and a winger since the start of the season. The lack of options in the wide areas was clear in the first part of the campaign due to the heavy reliance on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, with at least one of the two starting in every game.
With Mikel Arteta's side currently topping the league table by five points, they will need to continue to push in order to stay above Manchester City. And they could have received a major boost in doing this by using the January transfer window as an advantage and exploring Wilfried Zaha's contract situation.
According to the Daily Mail, Zaha could reject new contract talks and leave Crystal Palace in the upcoming transfer window. The winger is reportedly looking for a move to a top-six club.
But, this has since been rebuffed by the Athletic’s David Ornstein as it has now been reported that Zaha is set to stay at Crystal Palace until at least the end of the season. He has no intentions of leaving this month.
This blow for Arsenal follows after it emerged that Chelsea had agreed a deal with Gunners’ target Joao Felix. It now seems that Edu will have go full throttle to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donestk in order to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s side in this transfer window.
