Wilfried Zaha has beaten the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane to win the Premier League goal of the month award for February.
The Eagles winner was also nominated for the player of the month award but lost out to Liverpool’s Joel Matip.
Zaha ’s award was handed to him for his strike in Crystal Palace’s 1-1 draw against Norwich at Carrow Road last month.
The Ivorian received the ball on the far left side of the pitch from Michael Olise and shimmied onto his right foot before blasting an unstoppable effort into the top corner of Angus Gunn’s net.
His goal beat out Ronaldo’s effort against Brighton and Mane’s overhead kick against the Canaries. Son Heung-Min, Oriol Romeu, Matty Cash, Neal Maupay and Conor Gallagher - nominated for his goal vs Watford - were the other players Zaha finished ahead of.
“I’m just happy I’m scoring goals, and getting the recognition for it is the best thing ever,” Zaha told the Crystal Palace website following his win.
“I just like to work on myself, and at the same time when I work on myself I tend to prove people wrong.
“I was labelled as someone who has no end product. From no end product to 56 Premier League goals – I’m just happy that my hard work is paying off. I’m happy to be receiving the award I received.
“I’m working hard and it’s showing.”
This is the first time Zaha has won the Premier League goal of the month and he is the first Crystal Palace player to win it since Andros Townsend won in December 2018 for his screamer against Manchester City at the Etihad.

Townsend also won in March 2017 for his goal in a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park.
Zaha is the third Ivory Coast international to win the award following Jean Michael Seri for Fulham in August 2018 and Sebastien Haller for West Ham in December 2020.
