The widower of BBC star Rachael Bland and his new wife Amy have announced that they are expecting twins.
Steve Bland, 41, met advanced nurse practitioner Amy at a cancer conference in Manchester in 2019, one year after tragically losing first wife Rachael to breast cancer.
The pair got engaged last December and married this August.
Prior to meeting Amy, Steve had been co-hosting the You, Me and the Big C podcast with the late Dame Deborah James and Lauren Mahon.
In sharing the news happy of their impending arrivals, Amy posted a photo of her blossoming baby bump as step-son Freddie was seen pointing to it excitedly in front of the Christmas tree.
“Team VB is getting not one, but two new recruits next year. Twins arriving in spring, all being well," the-mum-to-be captioned.
Steve shares son Freddie, seven, with his late first wife, and revealed earlier this year that Freddie was best man at his wedding to Amy over the summer.
The BBC 5 Radio Live presenter wrote: "What. A. Day. Our wedding day literally could not have been more perfect.
"All our favourite people in one place, so many smiles, so much laughter, loads of dancing and memories made, and a little too much kraken. I’ve got a lot of people to thank, chief among them my best men Freddie."
Steve previously spoke out about not feeling guilty about finding love again following Rachael’s death in 2018, as she had said that she wished for him to find happiness again, for himself and their son.
He said on Lorraine last year: “It’s one of the most common questions I get asked: ‘Do I feel guilty?’
“Why should I? I’m 40-years-old and I’ve got the rest of my life ahead of me.”
Steve continued: “Rachael wanted me to be happy and wanted Freddie to be happy.
“We need to break down the taboo and stop worrying about being judged for it. We’re trying to be happy and to make the most of life.”
