The court was told she was asked for a Casual Trading Licence but she did not have one.
Solicitor for the accused Mr Patsy Gallagher said his client was a widowed mother of seven whose husband died ten years ago.
He added she receives €350 in social welfare allowances and that four of her children were still dependant on her.
A translator explained the court proceedings to Ms Cirpaci who has been in Ireland for a number of years but who does not have any English, her solicitor said.
Free legal aid was granted to the accused.
