Why Tiger Woods’ caddie isn’t Joe LaCava at the 2023 Hero World Challenge

Tiger Woods is back at the 2023 Hero World Challenge, ready to play his first competitive tournament in months with the mentality that he can still win against the PGA Tour’s best.

But there’s one familiar face that won’t be with him: His usual caddie.

Joe LaCava was Woods’ caddie since 2011, but when Tiger underwent surgery earlier this year, LaCava joined up full-time with Patrick Cantlay.

So who’s on the bag this week? That would be Rob McNamara, Woods’ longtime friend and VP of TGR Ventures.

You can read more about McNamara at Golfweek as Woods tees off this week, with Tiger saying, “He’s seen me hit a few shots” about his new (for now) caddie.
