Why this terraced five-bedroom house is on the market for £1.75m

This terraced home looks spacious but there are a couple of other reasons why it is on the market with a £1.75m price tag. The building is not only from the 17th century but it comes with its own ballroom, period staircase and orangery.

The house, which is thought to have once been owned by one of the Earl of Warwick, is Grade II listed. Complete with five bedrooms it was one of a number of properties in Mill Street in Warwick which was believed to have been owned by the Greville family prior to it being sold in the mid 20th century, reports Coventry Live.

Dating back to the reign of Charles I, the building neighbours the town’s medieval castle. It includes a host of historic features such as open fireplaces, a period staircase and the large ballroom.

Estate agent Loveitts, which has been instructed in the sale of the house, say it is a "rare opportunity" for buyers. Loveitts director Paul Barnes said: “This is a rare opportunity to own a remarkable property stepped in English history."

And with its interesting features it will make a special home for someone. Mr Barnes added: "It is a home is full of opulence and character, featuring a wealth of period features which transport you back to the splendour of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.”

Apart from the ballroom, orangery kitchen and breakfast room, the property also includes a master bedroom with dressing room and ensuite bathroom, as well as a drawing room and two family rooms. Standing on four floors, it also includes leaded and sash windows, parquet flooring, exposed beams, a cellar, picture rails and a superb first floor bathroom.

And while it is a terraced property it is not missing an outside space to relax in. It includes a rear, walled garden featuring reclaimed York stone terrace and lawn, with a path that leads to a gateway which opens to the parking area and double garage.

In the sales particulars Loveitts also say it is close to Leamington, Warwick railway station, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham Airport.
