Why the Bucks left their NBA Cup champagne untouched after winning it all

The Milwaukee Bucks turned down a chance at celebratory shenanigans and champagne baths. Let me explain.

Winning the NBA Cup clearly meant a lot to the team.  After the victory, Giannis Antetokounmpo gave Damian Lillard the longest hug, and Doc Rivers was so excited that he nearly dropped the NBA Cup trophy. So, it should have been time to celebrate with full-on hijinks and boatloads of champagne, right? Not exactly.

Per NBA insider Chris Haynes, Doc Rivers shared that after chatting with Darvin Ham, who won the NBA Cup last season with the Lakers, Milwaukee decided to skip the typical champagne postgame celebration. Instead, the team will use the opportunity to focus on the rest of the season and winning another championship. Of course, it makes sense that the Bucks want to ensure they’re dialed in, but WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY LEFT FREE CHAMPAGNE?!
