At the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri, devotees notice something unusual almost immediately. Sudarshan Chakra, traditionally imagined as a spinning divine weapon, is worshipped in a pillar-like form beside Lord Jagannath. Why does the powerful Sudarshan Chakra appear this way? According to a popular traditional story, the answer is connected to pride, devotion and one unforgettable encounter with Hanuman. The story says that Sudarshan once became so proud of his divine power that he forgot where his strength truly came from. What happened next gave him a lesson he could never forget.
