Why some people started wearing aluminium foil hats: The famous MIT study that found something completely unexpected

For decades, the image of a person wearing an aluminium foil hat has been closely linked to conspiracy theories about mind control, government surveillance and secret technologies. Many believers have claimed that a simple layer of aluminium foil can shield the brain from invisible electromagnetic waves and protect people from outside influence.

Rather than blocking all radio signals, the researchers found that aluminium foil helmets could actually strengthen certain radio frequencies under specific conditions.
