'Why should batters have all the fun?': Ravi Bishnoi after India's win over England

NEW DELHI: After India’s thrilling two-wicket victory over England in Chennai, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi expressed his excitement, saying, "Why should batters have all the fun?"

Tilak Varma's brilliant half-century guided India home in the second T20I, helping the team recover from a top-order collapse.

Tilak's exceptional performance was crucial in securing the win and giving India a 2-0 lead in the five-match series on Saturday.

Bishnoi, who held his nerves towards the end in the run chase with his composed 5-ball 9, which included two crucial fours, emphasised the joy of contributing to the team's success with the ball.

"My job was to give him (Tilak) strike and not play any unnecessary shots. Today I posted a reel on Instagram - 'Why should batters have all the fun?' When the slip came in, I knew they were trying to dismiss me with leg-spin. I tried to go over covers but I got a lucky four," Bishnoi said at the post-match interaction.

Bishnoi lauded Tilak's unbeaten 72-run knock, which came in 55 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes, under testing circumstances.

"(On Tilak) One of the best innings in T20s. Wickets were falling, it wasn't an easy wicket and if you look at their bowling attack, they had all the big names. He's been doing this for the last 2-3 months. He got two hundred in South Africa, he's playing well in the domestic arena as well, we knew something big was coming. He's doing really well now," Bishnoi added.

Bishnoi's lighthearted comment reflected his enthusiasm and the team spirit that has been a hallmark of Team India's recent triumphs.
