• The admission occurred during an intimate acoustic performance in London , marking the 20th anniversary of their self-titled second album.
• Borrell explained they offered the song to music publishers, hoping another artist would record it, drawing a parallel to Prince giving away “Nothing Compares 2 U”.
• After no other artist picked it up, the band developed the track themselves, which subsequently became their first and only UK number one single.
