Why Prince Harry isn't allowed to wear his military uniform to the Queen's funeral

Prince Harry is not wearing a military uniform at the funeral for his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, even though various members of the Royal Family are dressed in theirs - including his brother Prince William, the Prince of Wales.

Instead, the Duke of Sussex, who has seen active service in Afghanistan, is wearing a morning suit and medals at the historic state funeral. This is because only working royals are permitted to dress in uniform, so Harry is not allowed to wear it.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down from being working royals in January 2020, before moving from their home at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor to America.
