Police and protesters were spotted in Manchester city centre on Thursday afternoon (November 24) for the filming of Sky drama COBRA.
Crowds of protesters holding placards and police cars were pictured on set, at the back of The Midland Hotel outside the old G-MEX on Deansgate. The explosive series follows the UK's leading politicians as they're faced with catastrophes threatening the country - and the third season sees an unexpected environmental disaster unfold.
COBRA stars Robert Carlyle as Prime Minister Robert Sutherland and Victoria Hamilton as Chief of Staff Anna Marshall. Joining the cast for season three is sitcom star Jane Horrocks, who plays Defence Secretary Victoria Dalton.

The actress was pictured among the swathes of protesters on Thursday, wearing a blue shirt, a long black coat and sporting short, ginger hair.
The next instalment of the show sees the return of the Prime Minister's team, including Killing Eve's David Haig as Foreign Secretary Archie Glover-Morgan, Gangs of London's Richard Pepple as Home Secretary Joseph Obasi and The Bay's Marsha Thomason as Francine Bridge, Shadow Environment Secretary.
It was announced in early November that production had began on the show's third series, Cobra: Rebellion. This time, Sutherland’s government is faced with their biggest challenge yet.
But these threats come from much closer to home. When an unforeseen environmental disaster causes enormous destruction and loss of life, the consequences are far reaching for the Prime Minister.
Embarking on a quest to discover the truth, Sutherland and his team find something disturbing and disruptive underneath. The crisis spirals to encompass not only the urgent threat of environmental destruction, but also the malignant corruption of the arms industry and the rise of shadowy corporate security firms.
These elements combine to lead our Prime Minister to a crucial decision, about who he is personally, and what – ultimately – he is willing to sacrifice in order to remain in power.
Meanwhile season two saw an assassination cause havoc, as the Prime Minister and his team of advisers were tasked with rectifying the situation. The series, created and written by Ben Richards, was centred around what happens when cyber attacks and fake news subvert democracy.
The six-part drama is set to air on Sky Max and streaming service NOW in 2023.
