Injury has ruled Patrick Bamford out of Leeds United’s clash with Bournemouth at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday. It is unclear what the problem is for the striker, but it is understood hopes are high the England international will be fit for the Tottenham Hotspur trip next weekend.
Jesse Marsch spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon and made no mention of Bamford in his injury briefing. Adam Forshaw, Stuart Dallas and Luis Sinisterra were the only players ruled out of today’s match, with Bamford understood to be in contention.
However, as 2pm arrived, the club confirmed Bamford had been replaced by Mateo Joseph in the matchday squad to face the Cherries. It is the latest in a long line of injury-enforced absences for Bamford, who has not completed 90 minutes since September 17 last year.
