Singer Nick Jonas has opened up about something deeply personal - how his marriage to actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas and exposure to Indian culture and Hinduism have reshaped his spiritual and family life in ways he never expected.
Speaking on the Sach Sang Show, Jonas reflected on how India and Hindu spiritual concepts now feel like a natural part of his life, so much so that he says they “feel like home.”
A Cultural Shift, Not Just a Travel Story
According to Jonas, what began as curiosity during early visits to India with Priyanka soon turned into something meaningful and long-lasting. He described his first experiences with her family, friends and festivals as almost
“magic”, and said that many of his favourite traditions and holidays are now Indian ones.
Jonas shared that spending time in India and with Priyanka’s extended family gave him a sense of belonging that went beyond tourism or curiosity. For him, Indian culture and spirituality have become emotionally resonant, making Hindu values feel deeply familiar.
“Some of my favourite memories in life are either based in India or India-adjacent, and it’s pretty incredible,” he said, noting how profound and beautiful Hinduism’s core ideas - such as karma and dharma; have become to him.
What Hinduism ‘Feels Like’ to Jonas
Jonas said that concepts such as doing good and having positive energy return to you, and the idea of fulfilling one’s moral duty, have shaped his worldview in a meaningful way. He explained that learning about Hinduism wasn’t superficial for him, but something that opened his mind to different ways of thinking about life, relationships and personal responsibility.
He emphasized that this isn’t about replacing one belief with another — his faith has evolved and now includes a blend of experiences, but Hindu values have a special place in his heart because of what they’ve taught him about life balance and inner reflection.
Raising Daughter Malti With Meaningful Values
Perhaps the most surprising part of Jonas’s comments was about how he and Priyanka are passing these beliefs on to their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
Born via surrogacy in 2022, Malti is being raised in a multicultural, multi-faith home where she learns about both Hindu values and the traditions of her American heritage. Jonas said they want her to have “an understanding of them in a meaningful way,” adding that he feels blessed to give her both cultural grounding and spiritual openness.
More Than Just Tradition - A Personal Transformation
What makes Jonas’s journey stand out is not that he adopted a religion wholesale, but that he found parts of Hindu thought genuinely moving and applicable to his everyday life. From celebrating Indian festivals to embracing rituals that celebrate family and community, he describes his connection to Hinduism as
personal,
emotional, and deeply respectful.
This perspective shift goes beyond celebrity lifestyle talk - for Jonas, it reflects a meaningful blending of cultural identities that he now calls home.
