The presumed No. 1 overall pick for months, Michigan edge defender Aidan Hutchinson dropped into the lap of his in-state team. The Lions did not take long to turn in the card, and for very good reason. He’s a real game-changer at a position Detroit is desperate for.
There’s constant energy from Hutchinson, and it’s obvious he turns it up in the big moments, with a motor that never seems to stop. Every down comes off like it’s the last of the national championship. His nonstop motor, ferocious hands, and dominant learned technique will translate immediately as he looks to flip the Lions defense into a top unit.
Hutchinson will immediately be the best player on the Lions defensive line, and will likely produce a 10-sack season early in his career. The Lions have two more picks in the top 34, perhaps they find him a partner to play opposite to bolster a now jump started defensive line.
