Why Lions – Chiefs isn’t on Amazon Prime Video for Thursday’s Week 1 NFL game

If you’re here, you might be confused, and that’s understandable.

Amazon, with Prime Video, will be broadcasting Thursday Night Football once again. Yet the first game of the NFL season — the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs — isn’t on Amazon.

Why is that? Well, for one: It’s on NBC and Peacock. And why is that? Because they have the honors of doing the opening game of the season.

TNF will be back on Prime Video starting in Week 2, with the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles facing off. Their schedule will run all the way through Week 17.

That’s it! Enjoy the game.
