Argentina's World Cup quarter-final with the Netherlands descended into chaos on several occasions with the fiery clash being decided on penalties following a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes. Nahuel Molina and Lionel Messi put Argentina two goals in front, but a Wout Weghorst brace took the game to spot kicks.
Emiliano Martinez was the hero of the shoot-out as he saved the Dutch's first two penalties from Virgil Van Dijk and Steven Berghuis. Argentina's fourth taker, Enzo Fernandez dragged his effort wide, but Lautaro Martinez was on hand as his nation's fifth penalty taker to set up a last four clash against Croatia.
Chaos ensued at full time following Argentina's players goading the Dutch after their win on penalties in a similar fashion to the brawl that took place after Leandro Paredes had smashed the ball at the Netherlands substitutes after fouling Nathan Ake.

Tempers were still seemingly extremely high after the game, mostly with players on the winning team with Emi Martinez, responding to Van Gaal's claim the Netherlands would have an advantage in penalties, by telling him to "keep his mouth shut".
While Messi, mid-interview, broke away from a question to say off-camera, "what you looking at, idiot? Go on, f*** off over there." Who exactly Messi was talking to is unclear but another angle was captured that may have revealed who he was speaking to.
The Netherlands' normal time hero Weghorst was recorded frantically repeating in the tunnel that he was just waiting for Messi to finish his interview so he could shake his hand. Former Argentina international Sergio Aguero also appears in the video and seems to be directing his anger at Weghorst.
Both Lisandro and Lautaro Martinez are also involved with the latter seemingly to try to calm the situation down while the Man United star offers Weghorst his hand, but the former Burnley striker seems too deep in conversation with Aguero to even notice.
