Why Lewis Hamilton’s Warm-Metal Kitchen Has Stood the Test of Time – and Still Feels Incredibly Relevant Nearly Two Years On

Lewis Hamilton.

As a celebrity style editor, I see hundreds of celebrity kitchens every year, but some resonate long after the first glance. One such space is Lewis Hamilton’s black-and-white kitchen, which brings a time-honored color palette to life with his strategic injection of warm metals.

While this color palette can risk feeling stark and (sometimes) uninspired, Lewis's space feels warm, well-designed, and sophisticated – and gold is his secret. While some kitchen hardware trends come and go, Lewis's space has felt quietly luxurious for nearly two years, making a case for gold in a way that doesn't feel overtly audacious.

The gold hardware, seen in his kitchen lighting (like this pendant from Wayfair), and the detailing against his dark cabinets.

Gold hardware hasn't fallen out of fashion in the two years since I first saw this kitchen. However, as design experts explain, Lewis's look is about to be more on-trend than ever for 2026. This is thanks to the modern Art Deco resurgence.

Pinterest searches for Art Deco interiors have increased by 805%, and 1920s-style kitchens by 494%, indicating that vintage kitchen glamour is set to be a significant trend for the year ahead. Incorporating metallic finishes is one of the easiest, chicest ways to introduce this aesthetic.

'For many homeowners, Art Deco is appealing because it blends nostalgia with refinement,' comments David Balko, a kitchen expert at Wren. 'Gold hardware is overtaking silver, and natural woods are becoming the canvas for that Deco warmth. It’s elegant, but very liveable.'

To take this look even further, he recommends pairing angular or curved gemorteic shapes with warm metallics – bringing a timeless feel to cooking spaces, making them both stylish and functional. If there's ever a time to follow Lewis's example, it's right now.
