Kyogo's pace has the potential to frighten Premier League defences if he moves to England, according to former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie.
But he doesn't see him rushing to the exit door, even if his electric pace will inspire suitors. Kyogo has 22 goals for the season and is currently seventh in the hunt for the European Golden Boot which Erling Haaland leads by a distance. The Japanese star has more league goals than any other player in the SPFL and has been a key figure for Ange Postecoglou since his arrival last summer.
Postecoglou though has already seen two of his signings in Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis move on for a tidy profit and Kyogo could well be the next if his form keeps up between now and June. But McAvennie doesn't expect to see him leaving just yet as he has "unfinished business" - just like boss Postecoglou.
He told Football Insider: “I don’t think so. I think everyone in that Celtic team is capable of moving to the Premier League. But it’s the same as Postecoglou, I can’t see it happening yet.
“You can never say never in football. Kyogo won’t be here forever, but I think he’s still got unfinished business. It’s a good sign when the manager and his players are being targeted. You want that because it means they’re doing well.
“This Celtic team are all having fun and they’re so together at the moment. I’m sure his pace would frighten people in the Premier League. But I’m not sure he has the strength to play in England.”
