The NFL schedule makers must’ve wanted to give Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins a chance at redemption.
For the third straight year, Cousins’ team was somehow scheduled to play in Philadelphia against the Eagles on Monday Night Football, a game his team had lost the last two times in 2022 and 2023.
Cousins’ MNF record was already a bit spotty (3-10) before Monday’s latest trip to Philly, but losing a third-straight year to the Eagles on prime time in the second week of the season would’ve been even more brutal for the quarterback and his new team in Atlanta.
However, a last-minute touchdown drive for Cousins and the Falcons gave the team a shocking 22-21 victory.
Cousins finally got his MNF Week 2 victory over Philly (third time’s a charm) and his fourth-ever win on Monday night.
What a way for the team and quarterback to flip the script.
