John Malkovich grows emotional at Venice Film Festival

• John Malkovich grew emotional as his new film Wild Horse Nine received a 13-minute standing ovation at its Venice Film Festival premiere.
• As reported by Variety , the film also drew applause twice during the screening.
• The black comedy action thriller stars Malkovich and Sam Rockwell as two CIA officers dispatched to Easter Island shortly before the 1973 Chilean military coup.
• Martin McDonagh’s previous two films, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Banshees of Inisherin , both premiered at Venice and went on to receive multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.
• Three Billboards won two Academy Awards, for Rockwell (Best Supporting Actor) and Frances McDormand (Best Actress).
