Despite the Clippers and 76ers continuing to negotiate a trade for James Harden, a report from The Athletic indicated their talks had reached something of a standstill.
According to Sam Amick, the two parties have been unable to reach an agreement, with the potential inclusion of Terance Mann in the deal being a sticking point in their negotiations.
The 76ers were reportedly ready to accept an offer of Mann, an unprotected first-round pick, a pick swap, and players to match Harden’s salary, but Los Angeles has maintained its stance that Mann is not to be included in any trade for Harden. The team’s unwillingness to trade the 27-year-old reportedly led to Sixers GM Daryl Morey calling the Clippers “unserious” with regard to their interest in getting a deal done.
Morey continues to negotiate in hopes of convincing Los Angeles to part ways with Mann, but has been unsuccessful in doing so, as the Clippers seem unwilling to budge.
Mann, a former second-round pick in 2019, averaged 8.8 points and 3.4 rebounds last season while shooting at a 38.9% clip from three-point range.
Harden has not suited up for the 76ers during the preseason as he continues to angle for a trade out of Philadelphia. The 34-year-old missed practice on Wednesday, with reports stating that he is currently in Houston, away from the team.
While trade discussions continue to take place regarding the 10-time All-Star, the report from Amick indicates that progress has not been plentiful.
