Why Jack Harlow and Måneskin pulled out of Reading and Leeds — and who's replacing them?

Festival goers heading to Reading and Leeds Festival next weekend have been left disappointed after a number of highly-anticipated acts have dropped out of the line-up.

Last week, headliner Rage Against The Machine announced that they had been forced to drop out after frontman Zack de la Rocha injured his leg during a performance in Chicago.

But now Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin and rapper Jack Harlow have also cancelled their performances at the festival.

Organisers said that they've been left "saddened" to hear that the two acts will no longer be performing and festival goers have been demanding refunds after being left angry by changes to the line-up.

Here's why Jack Harlow and Måneskin have pulled out and what the festival has said about their replacements.

The Festival has now confirmed that Jack Harlow and Måneskin dropped out of Reading and Leeds to perform elsewhere.

In a statement posted to the festival's website, the organisers said: "Jack Harlow and Måneskin have decided to perform at an award show the same weekend they were confirmed to be playing Reading and Leeds".

When they announced that they would no longer be performing at the festival last week, Måneskin said that it was "due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts".

They added: "We love and miss the UK and all of our beloved UK fans and we’re absolutely gutted to no longer be able to play these shows.

"We’re really excited for the year to come and want to thank you for your support and patience, we’ll hopefully be back in the UK soon and we can’t wait to see you at the O2 Arena in London next year. We love you!"

It's since been reported that both Måneskin and Jack Harlow have been added to the performance line-up for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The festival still hasn't confirmed who will be replacing Måneskin and Jack Harlow in the line-up.

However, the organisers have now made an official statement after the acts pulled out last week.

In a statement posted on the festival website yesterday (August 15), they said: "We are working on some exciting replacements to join Arctic Monkeys, Dave, Bring Me The Horizon, The 1975, Halsey, Megan Thee Stallion, D-Block Europe, PinkPantheress, Joy Crookes, Fontaines DC, Bastille, Willow, Wolf Alice, Glass Animals, Hybrid Minds and many others at Reading & Leeds Festivals this August bank holiday weekend, watch this space!"

They have confirmed that The 1975 will be replacing Rage Against The Machine after they also pulled out.

But many fans weren't happy with this and have called for refunds.

However the festival's refund policy says that "changes to the line-up" or "changes to a band" does not qualify a ticket for a refund.
